There’s no sense crying over spilled milk, so I decided to re-write the whole topic. This time it will be a revised version of the original. I plan to add a little more “flair” to the article this time.
Most of you probably know what Zodiac Signs are. Usually when someone asks you, “What’s Your Sign?” People will respond with one of the 12 signs that fall on their birthdays: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, or Pisces.
But did you know that the sign that falls in your birth month isn’t your only sign? The sign most people are familiar with is the Sun sign. The Sun rules over Leo. It’s natural that this “planet” would get more attention than all the others. People even tattoo these signs on their bodies.

The Sun is the central planet in the universe. In astrology, the Sun represents our ego, our pride, our “inner” identity, our basic self. It doesn’t represent who we are totally, but it is our central driving force. It’s our inner core values developed from home, from the person who was in charge of our lives as children. It’s developed from our early childhood living conditions. And it stays within the center of our hearts even as we grow older. When we live life by our sun signs, we feel like somebody in this world. We feel significant. We feel like we’ve made someone proud. We feel content and happy in life, as if life is worth living. This is why the Sun sign is more well-known. To add, it’s easy to find. All you have to know is your birthday.
But have you ever felt that you didn’t really relate too much to your sun sign? Have you felt that there were just some things that were a little off? While most of us would like life to be like our Sun, other things influence who we are. You ever met two people with the same Sun sign that seem a little bit different from each other? I know two Sun in Geminis who generally like to socialize and talk, but their emotional responses are different, their interests are different, and their goals and ambitions are different. To add, they are from two different generations.
This shows us that our other signs are just as important.

MOVING ALONG
This article will be focusing on Mars signs.

The sign next to this symbol is your Mars sign. So, now that you have your natal chart and your Mars sign, let’s get started.
Mars isn’t particularly the planet of love and romance, like Venus. But it does rule over sex, our actions, our energy, and what we deem as strong or “masculine”. For men, this often reflects his own impressive strengths and abilities, the things he uses to show off and how he approaches a woman. For women it may be the same, but women still expect men to be just as strong as they are, if not stronger! Therefore, women often project their Mars without even realizing it. Women often expect men to take action and initiative even when it comes to asking her out on a date and even proposing for marriage, the same actions she would usually take. She’s drawn to a man who can keep up with her energy and adapt to it. She’s more instantly drawn to men who are exciting and brave before they are attracted to how a man behaves in public or how he treats her, though women eventually realize that’s important as well. They just realize it later on when they are going on a date with a guy. Since women rarely take the initiative in relationships, Mars usually comes in the form of her ideal type. Men may also be attracted to women like this, but may not realize it until way later. Men are not likely to focus on a woman’s impressive strengths or abilities until he’s sexually intimate with her.
Again, Mars is the planet of war, action, energy, aggression, and sex. For a man, it represents his own abilities. It represents how direct he is in situations. It represents his courage. This means everything to his masculinity.
For a woman, it shows her courage as well. But she usually projects this onto men, expecting him to be braver than even she is. This is the man that makes the blood rush to her head. He’s exciting and strong. This is the man she’s sexually attracted to. This is the man she respects. This is the man who breaks her defenses, as many women often tend to have them. Whether she will date him long-term or even marry him is a different story, but with Mars, she’s sexually attracted to him.
Mars is a physical planet. Unlike Venus, it overlooks the superficial and notices the physical actions a person takes. It also shows what physical actions we all are able to take. It represents our energy levels and what motivates us to keep moving or to even start moving. What a person does is often instinctive. A person’s approach can seem exciting or intimidating, depending on how they moved. Someone can act really sweet and have a cute face (Venus), but be a champion boxer (Mars). Someone can look intimidating and mean (Venus), but is often tending a garden or caring for animals (Mars). Someone can act really social at work or at school (Venus), but spends most of their time sleeping (Mars). Our physical activities are ruled by Mars. It also rules over your approach, which means everything you do. It’s not about how you do things (Venus), but literally what you do (Mars).
Venus rules the “label” we have. For instance, with the socialite who sleeps all the time example. Venus may reveal that he is a rebel, but Mars is the physical action he’s usually taking, and that’s sleeping.
Mars is more instinctive than Venus. Women are not likely to relate to it immediately or realize they like these traits in men. But if they observe the men in their lives, they may begin to notice these traits were the very things that drew them to these guys in the first place!
Mars shows a woman’s sex drive and the things she likes to do for fun. Women do love a good challenge as much as the next person. This represents how courageous she would be about expressing her feelings and how quick she’s likely to approach you. It may also show whether she is down for sex, how much sexual energy she has, and any sexual techniques she’s capable of revealing to entice you (once you’ve turned her on, of course). Her Venus signs would represent how she acts when she likes you. Look at the sign Mars is in. Then, look at the ruling planet of that sign and see what sign it’s in. For example, if you have Mars in Leo, look to the Sun. If you’re Sun sign is in Scorpio, your Sun in Scorpio will influence your Mars and color your interests a little more.
Though Mars decides what she’s attracted to in a man, she may not necessarily believe he’s a good boyfriend. She needs to know a man can be a good leader and give her the life she wants to live. Women often don’t feel that a good partner is easy to find. Before getting into a relationship, most women are independent and often care for themselves or have had someone care for them. The hardest thing for women to do is to give up what she thinks is important for a man. Society often expects a man to be the leader in a relationship. Since Mars represents a woman’s ideal type, I thought I’d help the gentlemen out. This can apply to you, too, gentlemen. Mars represents what everyone thinks is hot and sexy, though men may gravitate more to their Venus signs. Women may care more about what a man does and how he acts rather than how a man appears or how charming he is (though women like this, too). Men may equally like what a woman does, true enough, but they care more about how a woman carries herself in public socially than they do about what she “does”.
Still, Venus and Mars are both important in both charts. It’s just Mars is more instant for women.
Basically, for women, Mars is the first step towards “crushing” on a man. Venus is the second step towards “crushing” on a man, but she may not realize it.
Sun is the first step towards committing in a relationship. Moon is the last step towards committing in a relationship, but she may not realize it.
This article will help men get insight as to HOW they can attract a woman they like. But I recommend that you be YOURSELF. You never want to pretend. In the end, it will show whether you TRULY fit her ideal type. Still, it would be useful to know how she views sex and men. Then you can see if it matches up with your views. You don’t have to have the same Mars signs to be compatible. You don’t even have to have the same Mars signs in order for her to “see” her Mars qualities in you. Remember, she’s projecting her own qualities. She may see sides to you that’s attractive to her and they could be coming from all the other planets in your chart. Or even the houses. Or even the aspects! So, you don’t have to have compatible Mars signs in order for her to be attracted to you. This is just what SHE likes in her MIND. This is her “ideal”. These women are strong-willed, slow-moving, and down-to-earth. Slow and steady wins the race for them. This is why Mars is in detriment in this sign. Persistence is key.

Mars in Cancer
One word description: Caring
Mars is typically considered falling in this sign. These women generally don’t choose the guys with the “phony glitz and glam” approach. She rarely chooses the individual that’s trying to get her utmost attention. She’s impressed by the individuals who keep it cool and sweet.
She may choose the person that takes the time out to get to know her, someone who shares their personal, intimate secrets with her. She will mostly notice someone who is thoughtful in their approach. They tend to be drawn to people who are caring and memorable.
They are very defensive. Someone would literally have to ease their way into her heart. The approach has to be subtle rather than bold.
