South Africa’s World Cup was better than the GRAMMYS!!! SHOUT OUT SOUTH AFRICA!!! SHOUT OUT SOUTH AFRICA!!!! SHOUT OUT SOUTH AFRICA!!! SHOUT OUT SOUTH AFRICA!!! SHOUT OUT SOUTH AFRICA!!! SHOUT OUT SOUTH AFRICA!!!
It’s official. you want good music, head to South Africa’s WORLD CUP. Those performances were better than the American Grammy Awards! I felt so emotional listening to those songs! that’s real music! It had so much meaning!
Everyone is bubbling over about the World Cup. even I have been swept into the international craze that is called football around the world, and soccor in the US. Maybe we should change it to football in the US so people can like it better. World Cup is bigger than the Olympics!
This is my first favorite sport, and I have to say after watching the game, my new favorite teams are Spain and Argentina. I just think Spain has so much team spirit and heart. Of course, I hope America can gain that kind of fame. For now, Spain is my favorite. Argentina has good players to me.
But let me show you vids from the perfs!!!

Spain are the best team to watch, just like Barcelona at the club level! 😉
Yesterday Switzerland showed another display of anti-football, playing destructive football for 85 minutes of the match! Why should they bother coming to World Cup finals, if they don’t wanna play football? 🙂
Vamos Espana!!!

you can’t be serious! I’m glad I missed it! That would’ve made me furious. But Germany did fairly well, and showed they knew what the game was about, so I was like happily shocked how well they played. But hey, I’m still backing up Spain all the way!

The results of the World Cup thus far have been good. And though there haven’t been a great number of goals being scored. I fully expect that to change in the latter rounds of the tournament.

Yea, I am too surprised America tied with England and Slovenia. This seems like the under dog’s tournament, but it has yet to disappoint! Thanks for the comment!

Absolutely nothing about the tournament has suprised me. You have idiots within this forum prognosticating about the teams that ought to win . When much of the evidence they’ve set forth had no sound reasoning other than the fact that they liked the look of certain players because of their reputations.
Now you have American fans b_tching and whining because of a referee’s mistake . What the hell did they expect ? The same crap happens in the NBA , NFL and MLB . So why not in the World Cup ?

absolutely true great comment! 😉 Yea, get over it folks. This sport is no different than any other.
And like the players for their play in the game, not because of reputation. They could’ve been doing great for many games, but it’s about this game.

And now that both England and the US have bowed out of the tournament . Perhaps now all of the bitching and whining can stop. Neither team were that good to begin with ! They each had their flaws and shortcomings and their respective coaches showed how clueless they were in the end.

Just because a team qualifies for the event it doesn’t automatically make them great. I mean MLB has the World Baseball Classic and what has the US team done in that event since its inception ? Absolutely jack sh_t ! And then they call the winners of the World Series world champions ? In what universe would they be deemed A world champion ? It’s a complete joke ! Much like the belief here that the US can make itself a world power on the soccer stage. First they have to give respect before it’s reciprocated . And this just doesn’t apply to sports but life in general !

It’s true. One little win doesn’t gain respect. It takes skill, team work, attitude, and the way the game is played. It’s not about who wins, but how they played the game. Titles don’t mean crap.

But the bitching and whining continues rather than real analysis as to what went wrong and why.
It was the same thing with the US team in the World Baseball Classic . But then the excuse there being made was that it wasn’t the best team available . Bull_hit ! With the talent available to the US in both times that the event was staged they should’ve fared better .

People don’t want to admit when a team has made a bad play or a bad game. The whining comes because people want to put the blame off on one player and one person. The main problems usually involve the play. NFL really has that bad. The fans don’t seem to come up with logical reasons why a game went wrong, and really many of the fans know what went wrong, and don’t want to admit that the team made a mistake in the play.

It’s not only that but the failure to accept the reality that the US doesn’t rule supreme when it comes to a sport that they can’t dominate.
It’s now the same in men’s tennis and track & field.

YES, US just doesn’t have the skill or talent or respect to dominate the World Cup. When Americans had that one little tie with the UK and that one slide with Slovenia, Americans were so full of themselves, talking about how they would also “take over” world football. America has yet to show they are worthy of the title.
It’s true with Men’s tennis. I see it first-hand.

US men’s tennis for the next couple of years will be built around their success in the Davis Cup team event . It’s the same in the UK as other than Andy Murray they have nothing at all !

yea, it’s kind of sad really.

Kinda sad ?
Well in the UK I know there they’re not holding out any expectation of producing a men’s champion anytime soon ! Next up the US Open and there too the US men will be dropping like flies !
Roddick has been a one hit wonder just like Micheal Chang . After Agassi and Sampras left the scene US men’s tennis bit the dust .
